
Stop Heating Your Roof and Start Heating Your People
If you’ve ever tried to heat a factory changing room with high ceilings, you know the struggle. You crank up the heat, but all that warm air just floats straight to the ceiling. You’re basically paying to keep your roof warm while your crew is still shivering in their boots. It’s a total waste. That’s why we use infrared (IR) heaters. Instead of trying to warm up the entire volume of air in the room, these units send heat straight to the people and the objects in the space. It’s almost like stepping into sunlight. The second you flip the switch, you feel it. No waiting for the room to “warm up” over an hour. Because we use short-wave and medium-wave emitters, the heat moves at the speed of light. We pack a lot of power into these units so the warmth actually reaches the floor, even when the ceilings are massive. When it comes to the gear, we use quartz glass tubes—often with a special coating—to make sure the heat is absorbed efficiently. Depending on your setup, we can wire them for 220V or 380V. But here is the trick:placement is everything. If you hang them too high, the heat loses its punch. If you hang them too low, you get “hot spots” where one guy is roasting while the person next to him is freezing. We map out the layout so the heat zones overlap perfectly. Now, a few things to keep in mind. These heaters pull a lot of power. You’ll want to double-check your breakers and wiring before winter hits, or you might be dealing with tripped switches right when you need the heat most. Also, these things get hot. Really hot. You can’t tuck them next to flammable materials or plastic pipes. And remember, IR heat needs a clear line of sight. If you park a giant pallet or a row of lockers right under a heater, that spot is going to stay cold. The beam can’t go through walls, so we just make sure the path is clear.
