The balancing act of heat
When we look at a system, we’re obsessing over the relationship between voltage, wattage, and the length of the tube. Sure, a high-wattage density lamp gets you up to temperature faster. That means your cycle times drop. But there’s a catch. If you cram too many watts into a short tube without the right cooling airflow, you’re basically asking the filament to burn out early. Getting the waveband right
Quartz and halogen aren’t the same. They penetrate glass differently. Shortwave IR is the go-to for speed because it pushes energy straight into the material. We often use special coatings to tune that emission. It keeps the surface from getting scorched while the core is still freezing. Without the right coating, you get “hot spots.” And hot spots lead to cracks. It’s as simple as that.
Why we’d rather just come see you
A “drop-in replacement” is rarely the real fix for a heating problem. We prefer to get on your floor and actually see what’s happening with a thermal profile.
